Game of the Week – Glenelg at Howard

For the second straight week, we are headed to Howard County for our Game of the Week, as Howard (8-3) hosts Glenelg (7-4) in the MPSSAA Class 2A State Quarterfinals.
This game is a matchup of both teams that advanced through the 2A West Division out of the regionals round, and it just so happens that both Howard County schools were paired up in the state quarterfinals after re-seeding.
Howard advanced to the state quarterfinals after defeating River Hill in another cross-county matchup, 14-7. The Lions have won their first two playoff games, after dropping their final three games of the regular season — their only three losses this year.
Glenelg staged arguably one of the biggest upsets of the entire statewide tournament so far, knocking off the overall number one seed in 2A Oakland Mills 15-7 on Friday night. The Gladiators avenged a 50-6 loss to the Scorpions in Week 5, and kept their playoff run alive.
Both Howard and Glenelg faced off against each other in Week 6 of the regular season, with the Lions picking up a 14-7 victory. This game kicks off at 6:30 pm on Friday night, and we will be live at Howard High School bringing you all the action from the sidelines!
