Remember The Crusaders

A team with destiny, a team with lots of hopes and dreams. For years, the Riverdale Baptist Crusaders have been trying to get over the hump and have a winning season. They haven’t had a winning season since 2017, with an overall record of 7-5. The Crusaders are led by head coach Olandis Gary. Last year, the Crusaders had an overall record of 3-7, but they lost a lot of close games because of penalties and team mistakes. It seems last year was an introduction to something special.
With a strong 56-17 week 1 victory over St. John Paul the Great. The Crusaders did a great job running the football as well as passing on offense. Their defense was shut down for most of the game but allowed one passing touchdown and a kick return touchdown. Starting the season 1-0 is always a good thing, but for this team, it’s something special. The last time the Crusaders started 1-0 was in 2018 with a 13-12 win over the Bishop McNamara Mustangs. These two teams will face off on Saturday, September 9th, at 1 p.m. With a tough season ahead, can the Crusaders keep their hopes of having a winning record alive?
