Winters Mill vs FSK Varsity Football (9/14/23)

On Thursday night the Winters Mill Falcons headed to FSK to take on the Eagles at home. With a very defensive first half, the first score came right before the half with a rushing touchdown by Kenyondre Groomes, (FSK Running Back).

Penalties hurt both sides in the first half of this matchup, but Eagles hung their heads high after winning the first half of the game and a great pick by Ben Stevens, (Eagles Safety) right before the clock sounded.

Both teams came out ready to play in the second half. Ben Stevens, (Eagles Quarterback) gave the offense a spark with his passing and rushing ability and also coming up with two interceptions on defense on Thursday, a great threat on both sides of the ball. With another defensive half, this was a very low scoring game.

The Eagles had the lead late in the fourth quarter until Caleb Crouch, (Falcons Quarterback) led the Falcons down the field and the Eagles committed some costly penalties in the red zone. Caleb Crouch threw a great touchdown pass to Ahren Jones, (Falcons Wide Receiver) to tie the game as time expired. Kamden Koch, (Falcons Kicker) then came out with zeros on the clock to kick the game winning extra point. Devastating loss for the Eagles on Thursday night with a final score of 7-6.
